New Nassau Spa Addresses Fitness, Wellness And Beauty

LONG BEACH, NY — A new spa is open in Long Beach, giving customers a three-pronged effort at relaxation.

Pod Spa and Wellness offers beauty, wellness and fitness options under one roof.It's the first location for Pod Spa.

The 7,000-square-foot facility can hold up to 49 people. But there are many activities to keep everyone fulfilled.Pod Spa and Wellness provides group classes and private training.

"We have three-infrared saunas that are personal suites," Courtney Roberts, Pod Spa's nurse administrator, told Patch.The facility is open seven days a week for classes, with aesthetics and wellness available Tuesday-Sunday.

Roberts said they have "very competitive prices" as they address everyone's needs.

The aesthetics include helping teenagers deal with acne and older people concerned with age-related skin problems.

"We have something for every skin type," she said.Fitness, featuring circuit training and rowing, is focused on all levels. There are packages at the spa that gear toward men.Male or female, the spa is also beneficial for athletes."We have cryotherapy, local and a large tank, where you can go in for a full body dip," Roberts said. "We have IV [intravenous] for hydration and vitamins."

She said yoga and other courses help patients regain flexibility.

Roberts has an important role in supporting the staff and educating them."The staff came in looking to advance their skill set and that's something that we're doing," she said.Having the wellness component makes it a "great place to unwind and de-stress," Roberts said.One's mental health is a paramount concern for so many because of the homebound nature of the pandemic.Aesthetics covers services from common facials to HydraFacials, which cleanse the skin and put back serums.

They do laser work for hair removal and fat loss as well.Instead of using Botox injections, they have a cutting-edge machine to exercise and stimulate muscles.Pod Spa also uses a stem-cell serum "actually sourced from a 21-year-old athlete that's been replicated in a lab," Roberts said.The Long Beach spa is a "destination" spot where you can "stay for hours on end," she said. An example of that would be catering to all aspects of a wedding."You can come [and] hang out in our salt cave, in our saunas. We have a Drip Room where people can drip [IVs] together," we said.

With so many options, they enjoy serving groups of up to 10.When the weather allows, they also have a rooftop area to accommodate outdoor events.Pod Spa and Wellness is located at 221 E. Park Ave.
